As you had installed Windows 7 or 8 in your computer, you would got the trials of windows for some days. Win 7 users would have got 30 days of trial and win 8 users would have got 90 days of trial. Now, what you have to do is - Before the end of the trial (one or two days before end date), follow the given steps:-
1. Run Command Prompt with Administrative Rights.(win 7 users can open it in
start menu>all programs>accessories>command prompt and win 8 users can search for it)
2. Type - slmgr/rearm and press enter.
3. You will see a message.
4. Restart your computer and you have done !!!
By this method, you will be able to receive updates latest windows updates released by Microsoft.
